Pastor Lee Robinson serves as the Pastor of Citywide Baptist Church. However, he makes it clear regularly that Jesus is our “Senior Pastor.” Helping alongside of him is his beautiful wife Dorothy and their three darlings (Selah, Cherith, and Jerusha).
Pastor Lee’s Story
“I grew up mostly in the New London, CT area and attended the public schools. My family was non-religious, but I was “sprinkled” in a catholic church when I was very young. While attending Three Rivers Community College and diligently pursuing becoming a Music Producer, Jesus came into my life. I never really thought about him before, neither was I seeking the truth, but one night I was taught the book of Romans by a faithful Christian (Doug Getty) and was amazed at the simple truth of the Gospel – that I was sinful and on my way to Hell, but that Jesus died for my sins, rose from the dead, and all I had to do was believe in him to be forgiven and have eternal life. I did, and that night I was born-again by God’s mercy and grace alone!
I began studying the Bible diligently, was baptized, and joined Lakes Pond Baptist Church. I also began to go out preaching the Gospel with Doug Getty and his two sons. I am grateful for that family’s faithfulness- it encouraged me much as a young Christian. I attended Lakes Pond for a few years, then went to North Carolina to attend Bible College. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Bible with a Missions emphasis in 2013.
After college, I came back to Connecticut and was invited to Citywide to teach in church once a week. My family began to get more and more involved at Citywide for a few years, and in 2017 the church invited me to be their Pastor. God confirmed this call in my heart and in the heart of my wife and I was ordained and appointed the official Pastor of Citywide on December 3rd, 2017.
My passion is evangelism and teaching the Word of God to people hungry for the truth. I know from experience that if someone is truly born-again by believing the simple message of the Gospel their lives will forever be transformed, and they will be given the greatest gift anyone could ever imagine – God himself coming to dwell inside of them through the Holy Spirit of God!”
